Many people when first starting care wonder why does Dr. Ara/Gaurish have group sessions? And also say “Well I don’t feel comfortable when other people are there” or even might say, “Well I don’t think I get as much attention as I do when I am by myself”
There are several factors in group healing that provide deeper healing than a one-on-one session … and outside of rare instances brought about either by a devastating disease or severe symptoms, it is most often preferred.
For healing to take place a strong desire for change is needed, for most people that desire comes only in situations of unease. Sometimes for some people, the group setting provides that, and so as healing is taking place (given they are willing), they integrate the issues. Many other times people share their experiences with me, mentioning intense emotional outbursts or extreme unease for a day or two, followed by great peace and joy thereafter- this is an example of healing in the emotional plane. Others report a lot of mental turbulence after a session followed by stillness and a sense of calmness or humor that was long missing in their life. This is the nature of healing. Most times there is a breaking down process followed by a building up process. This is a uniform law of nature that can be seen internally and externally (the lungs expanding and contracting, the digestive system, breaking down to build up a new, our muscle expanding and contracting, the mountains forming, valleys forming, waves of the ocean etc…)
With group healing we are providing an opportunity for a lot of unintegrated experiences to come to the surface and be healed. How does this happen? Well our body is constructed as a symphony of music, and if one person on the table is experiencing healing, everyone around experiences it as well. Think of it like striking a string on a guitar, if you listen carefully, some of the other strings will vibrate as well (not only on that guitar, but any string instrument in the room that are tuned alike). So here we are seeing one person who has a great will and momentum to heal and is providing a floor for all around to do the same.
There was a study done to illustrate this point. The study was focused on the effects of an act of kindness, and so the outcome here was as follows: One receiving an act of kindness experienced healing, one doing the act of kindness experienced healing and interestingly enough, the observers of an act of kindness also experienced healing. Why is this so? Because the chord of healing has been struck, radiating and penetrating all that are in its path.
Just as group chanting, group meditating, or group praying has greater resonance and power than doing it alone; group healing has greater effects than individual setting. This works in an exponential process. So the outcome is always greater than its individual components.
Now if the mind of one being served is active and turbulent, it will not be able to sense what is taking place. That is not to say that the person is not benefiting from the service; simply that he/she does not sense what he/she is receiving because he/she is focusing on superficial sensations. This is similar to a child being given a good and delicious nutritious meal but is utterly focusing on a television show, the child still benefits from the nutrition within the meal but if you were to ask him how it was, he would not authentically be able to recall.
